Environment, Energy & Natural Resources
Sullivan & Worcester’s attorneys have a long history of helping clients face the challenges and opportunities in the energy and environment areas. Our Group includes attorneys who have worked in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including one of the first environmental lawyers for the U.S. Government, the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, and state environmental agencies. They have been ranked by Best Lawyers in America in the areas of corporate finance, environmental law, water and natural resources.
Our attorneys specialize in the laws and policies relating to energy matters and advise clients on optimal financial and tax structures for projects in the United States and around the world. We are focused on helping our clients deal with the impact that environmental regulation has on their operations and transactions. As the regulations have changed, we have grown and expanded our practice. We are now one of the leading law firms in the water use and conservation area and recently expanded our practice to include pesticides and the growing area of bio-agriculture.
Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, we offer clients a broad range of services, including assistance with energy, water conservation and other infrastructure project development, financing transactions, power purchase, joint venture and licensing agreements, environmental due diligence, environmental risk assessment, environmental/land use permitting, pre- and post-closing concerns, regulatory compliance, administrative enforcement matters and litigation.
